Our Business

Popular Plumbing and Heating began serving the New York City, Long Island area in 1994. Through a passion for the trade, a striving for excellence and good old fashioned hard work, it has been built the company that it is today.

Our Staff

Jay Jarkow is our fearless leader. He is a Licensed Master Plumber with 25 years of experience. Jay has extensive knowledge in both plumbing and heating aspects of the trade. His familiarity with Building Department and Gas Company protocol allows him to make sure proper procedure is always followed and required permits are expedited. He is the owner, manager and coach of our team.

Ken Riso is our senior field supervisor and estimator. He handles our high end residential projects as well as many of our commercial accounts. Ken's knowledge of plumbing code is vast as is his ability to design high tech heating systems for any application.

Peter Zanata is our shop foreman. He is a licensed plumber with over 20 years experience. Peter works closely with our techs to ensure our job sites are properly equipped and run smoothly. He has diverse knowledge of heating systems and holds training classes for our technicians.

Eric Vanterpool is our dispatcher and office manager. He will assess your plumbing problem and promptly schedule a technician to address the issue. Although Eric is not a field tech, he attends all of our training classes. This knowledge informs him how long certain jobs may take, so he can schedule your repair more efficiently.

Who We Are

We are a team of Senior Technicians, Journeymen and Apprentices.

We are well trained and experieced at what we do but never stop learning.

As new products and services are brought into our industry, we make sure our technicians are aware of them, how they can help our customers and how to install and repair them.

We encourage our seasoned techs to teach our apprentices.

We also hold classes in our shop to teach all our employees various aspects of the plumbing and heating industry.

Our men come to your door neat and in uniform.

They come prepared with the tools they need to not just repair your home but to protect it and keep it clean.

Drop cloths, door mats and booties ensure that the only thing we leave in your home is a proper working plumbing system.
